Happy 2010

Hello Readers,

I wish you and your family a very happy new year.

I know this wish must have come in a little earlier in the year, but could not manage to get my space to write down my thoughts till now.

Thank you all for all the support that you have extended so far, for my blog and me. Without your comments and readership, I know I could not have reached this far... I am very happy about breaking my own record of the past years in blogging. My blog has seen 104 posts from me in 2009. This is the highest I have posted in the last three and a half years of blogging. Thanks, one and all.

I hope to be able to continue to write my thoughts and to receive your comments on my opinions. If there is anything specific that you want to see me writing about, I would like to know your views. Please post a comment on this one to say what else you would like to hear about. If the topic is something I can write about or feel like writing about, I will surely keep it my mind and will write as and when I see or hear something on the same lines.

Better Late than Never! New Year Wishes to You too :) This year I am expecting you to update my blog url on your page(pending for a while) and hoping to see you on my blog page often.

Also you really deserve an applaud for the truthfullness and individuality in your blog posts and the determination to keep it going strong.

A very common question I got asked over the last one month's time by many of my friends. The answer has to be simple: I have a, b, c things to do or 1, 2, 3 places to go to or i, ii, iii work to complete... and the like.. This is on the basic level and probably this question doesn't need too much thought or attention beyond this.. But, I did find this question quite disturbing. One evening, on my way back from a temple, I realized the answer to this question: Where ever we are at any given point in time, we are placed at the right position to serve the right purpose at the right time!!. Just that we do not realize it. There is no reason to fret about things ( I admit that I have not yet reached that level of maturity as I write this post but I definitely realize ) when they are not in your hands. Sargam - A 1992 Movie Review

This is a malayalam movie directed by Hariharan. Probably everyone in Kerala would have watched this many times. I got a chance to watch this movie yesterday. Brilliant make - a nice mix of psychology and music. I could identify, Vineeth, Renuka, Thilagan, and Nedumudi Venu in the movie. I wouldnt know the rest of the stars but I must say the movie has been done very well and is set in the late seventies or so it seems. Or may be the nineties itself. I would not know such a set up because I grew up in Tamil Nadu. The whole movie has been shot in a bungalow of old times. They call it Kovilagam which seems to mean Temple. I assume that the ancestors of this family had once been very rich and provided for the families working for them and lived a kingly life with great taste towards traditional arts. Thappad - A slap!

'Thappad' translates to Slap in English. I loved the lead lady's facial expression in the trailer, so I clicked 'Play' to watch the movie.  The storyline goes like this:  Amrita and Varun are happily married. Varun gets a senior role in London. The couple had been waiting to relocate to London. When the news of the promotion and the role officially came in Varun throws a party for a close circle of 40 people - professional and personal. The evening was fun-filled which directly translates to drinks, dance, food, and networking. The boss quietly tells Varun that the offer has been passed on to someone else, and Varun is going to stay in India. To everyone's disapproval and dismay, Varun loses his cool and yells at the boss and the other people whom he suspected may have had a corporate politics role-play behind the change of plans.
