Horlicks.....

I rarely tune in to T.V channels... This particular day when I was in one of those 'feel-like-doing-nothing' moods, I chose to switch-on the T.V.

Four kids were praying in a temple, each asking for different things... One kid interestingly thought out aloud "Dear God, I know you are the Almighty and have great strength... then, may be you do not need this much of milk for yourself " and rushes out of the temple with the can of milk that was kept in front of the deity as an offering...

The scene ends with the kids making Horlicks Shake and enjoying themselves.. :)

This advertisement has a major thought which is controversial to even discuss here.. There is this practice of 'Abhishekha' in Indian temples where people offer 'milk' to God. It is a mark of devotion to the good God for all that he has given and been and ' is-to-be' to people.

Wonder why no one ever thought of this basic question.. God is the Almighty and so he may not need so much milk after all??

The point is 'Some questions that kids ask, do not have correct answers. All answers given are to manage the show for the moment.'...

Curious to know what God thinks of the Horlicks Advt, at this moment as I write this post... :)

i bet if he exists then he would be been thinking the same as he is thinking now when i am writing this... which is same as what he always thinks when somebody guns down 32 people... or when 150 innocent people die for no reason.. or when thousands of children starve to death in africa when he's bathing in milk....

A very common question I got asked over the last one month's time by many of my friends. The answer has to be simple: I have a, b, c things to do or 1, 2, 3 places to go to or i, ii, iii work to complete... and the like.. This is on the basic level and probably this question doesn't need too much thought or attention beyond this.. But, I did find this question quite disturbing. Sargam - A 1992 Movie Review

This is a malayalam movie directed by Hariharan. Probably everyone in Kerala would have watched this many times. I got a chance to watch this movie yesterday. Brilliant make - a nice mix of psychology and music. I could identify, Vineeth, Renuka, Thilagan, and Nedumudi Venu in the movie. I wouldnt know the rest of the stars but I must say the movie has been done very well and is set in the late seventies or so it seems. Or may be the nineties itself. I would not know such a set up because I grew up in Tamil Nadu. The whole movie has been shot in a bungalow of old times. They call it Kovilagam which seems to mean Temple. I assume that the ancestors of this family had once been very rich and provided for the families working for them and lived a kingly life with great taste towards traditional arts. Thappad - A slap!

'Thappad' translates to Slap in English. I loved the lead lady's facial expression in the trailer, so I clicked 'Play' to watch the movie.  The storyline goes like this:  Amrita and Varun are happily married. Varun gets a senior role in London. The couple had been waiting to relocate to London. When the news of the promotion and the role officially came in Varun throws a party for a close circle of 40 people - professional and personal. The evening was fun-filled which directly translates to drinks, dance, food, and networking. The boss quietly tells Varun that the offer has been passed on to someone else, and Varun is going to stay in India. To everyone's disapproval and dismay, Varun loses his cool and yells at the boss and the other people whom he suspected may have had a corporate politics role-play behind the change of plans.
